It's a BOY!!!

He's here. My new nephew that is. Emerson Kraig entered the world on August 1st at 8:45 AM. He came in at a whopping 8 pounds 15 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long.
On Sunday night his big brothers Delano and Elijah came to my house so I could take them to the hospital for the big event. We played video games, played at the park and them got to bed early for our early morning wake up call.
We got up at 6:00 AM and had a pretty easy morning considering that none of us are morning people. We had breakfast and talked about the impending arrival. Delano seemed pretty excited but Elijah didn't really know what to think. I think he was more worried about losing his status as the baby of the family. We headed to the hospital and made it there just after 7:30 AM. Mom and Dad were all ready to head to the operating room and Grandma was pacing in anticipation.
About 8:10 AM the docs came in and took Mom and Dad to the OR. We waiting in the visitor lounge and watched cartoons, did puzzles and paced the halls waiting for the first glimpse of the new baby.
Here's the neat part. Dad wheeled Emerson out of the OR into the recovery room where the nurse started to clean him up and then they invited us in. A few minutes later Mom joined us. We all got to stay together in the recovery room together with the baby while they did all their measuring and cleaning him up. Delano was pretty excited at first but after seeing him for a few minutes he was maze book he had brought along. He didn't really want much more to do with the new baby. Elijah on the other hand didn't want to stay away from his new brother. He was loving all over him. I would say he long forgot about losing his role as the baby.
We went to the park across the street and headed out for lunch. WE came back and spent another few hours with Mom, Dad, Grandma and Emerson. About 5:00 PM we headed to drop the Big Brothers at their Grandma's house. I went home and was fast asleep by 8:00 AM. It was a loooonnnng day and I was very happy to be home and able to get some rest.
I'm sure I will have more pictures to share really soon so keep checking back.
